Climate research to join in

Citizen science is a form of scientific research in which citizens actively participate in scientific projects. They support scientists in data collection, data analysis or other tasks in the research process. In Citizen Science projects, people without specific scientific training can contribute their knowledge, observations and time to help solve scientific questions.
The Citizen Science Strategy 2030 for Germany aims to strategically strengthen the potential of Citizen Science for science, society and politics.

Citizen Science at Helmholtz

There are also numerous Citizen Science projects within the Helmholtz Association, some also in the field of climate research.

CityCLIM

In CityCLIM, scientists, city administrators, and citizen scientists are collaborating to develop an open platform and high-resolution information and forecasting tools for urban weather prediction using multiple data sources such as in-situ measurements, aerial and satellite data.

Living and working sustainably? Challenge accepted!

The initiative wir-forschen.digital calls on citizens to share their challenges on the topic of sustainability. How can I travel in a climate-friendly way? How can I save energy when consuming media? How can I make my workplace more environmentally friendly?
