Helmholtz KLIMA
With Helmholtz KLIMA, the Helmholtz Association renews its commitment to climate research in 2024 and relaunches the Helmholtz Climate Initiative.
As a dialogue platform, Helmholtz KLIMA bundles the climate-relevant research of all 18 Helmholtz Centres. In exchange with stakeholders from politics, media and industry, we communicate solutions to the challenges of climate change. The topics we cover range from energy, matter and information to health, transport, aeronautics and space as well as Earth and environment.
Our vision
The Helmholtz KLIMA dialogue platform is an independent and competent body for climate-related policy advice. It identifies pathways to climate neutrality and adaptation to climate change. Helmholtz KLIMA also integrates the expertise of other scientists and cooperates with research and technology partners to jointly identify and communicate the best science-based, systemic solutions and possible actions to meet the challenges of climate change.
Our mission statement
The transition to climate neutrality and adaptation to climate change are both a concern and a mission of Helmholtz KLIMA. The dialogue platform brings together researchers, policy-makers and civil society actors to discuss current climate policy issues as well as requirements and to jointly develop solutions. Our work is based on scientific expertise and networked research from the Helmholtz Association's six research fields and 18 centres.
